Medical Tactile, Inc. and Valentus Medical Technologies, Inc. announced today that Valentus Medical Technologies, Inc., based in Victoria, Canada, has signed a partnership agreement with Medical Tactile, Inc., and has taken on the exclusive Sales & Marketing rights for SureTouch™, the non-invasive digital breast imaging technology, worldwide, with the exception of China.
"Valentus has made a significant investment in Medical Tactile that will greatly assist us in advancing research and development for this important technology," said Jae Son, Chairman of Medical Tactile, Inc. "Valentus brings a health and wellness clinic-based approach to help bring SureTouch™ to market in North America as well as grow existing international markets."
"We are excited about the partnership with MTI and are thrilled to be able to bring SureTouch™ technology to women of all ages around the world," said Stephen L. Davis, CEO of Valentus Medical Technologies, Inc. "Nearly 45,000 women in North America alone will die from breast cancer in 2010, and the incidence of breast cancer in some developing countries is rising at a rate of up to 5% per year. When breast cancer is found and treated early, when it is small, chances are better that it can be successfully removed and mortality can be reduced. We believe that women deserve to have access to SureTouch™ technology and we hope to contribute to saving more lives by enhancing the Clinical Breast Exam (CBE) procedure with the improved documentation SureTouch™ technology provides."
SureTouch™ has FDA clearance and enhances the routine Clinical Breast Exam using Tactile or Palpation Imaging technology. It is an accurate, non-invasive (uses no radiation), comfortable, and affordable breast image documentation device. It measures the reactive pressures generated by a breast lesion, which can be as much as 100 times harder than normal tissue and may prove to be cancerous. It documents the shape, location, hardness and size of breast lesions. SureTouch™ is compact, portable and easy to set up. Training for physicians and other clinicians will be offered online.
