LCA opens registration for next Team Lung Love event

Today, Lung Cancer Alliance (LCA) opened registration for the next Team Lung Love event.  Members of Team Lung Love can participate in the Philadelphia Marathon, Half-Marathon and 8K this November.  Team Lung Love is LCA's endurance sports training program is focused exclusively on raising awareness and support for lung cancer.

LCA has been selected as one of the eleven official charities to take part in this world class event that is expected to draw close to 23,000 runners.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness during November, Lung Cancer Awareness Month," said Laurie Fenton Ambrose, LCA President & CEO.  "Team Lung Love includes survivors, caregivers and family members, and others who bring hope and support to those impacted by lung cancer during training and throughout race weekend."

Members of Team Lung Love receive coaching, race entry, hotel rooms and team branded race apparel. They're supported every step of the way with dedicated coaches and mentors, as well as volunteers who cheer them on as they run or walk their race.

"Team Lung Love is a great way for survivors and anyone who's been touched by lung cancer to feel like they're doing something about this disease," says Team Lung Love National Coordinator Julia Gaynor. "It's also a great way to meet new friends, connect with others who've been touched by this disease and get fit – while raising funds for LCA so that we can change this disease as we know it!"

Team Lung Love is currently recruiting new teammates for the Philadelphia events. No running experience necessary! To learn more and register today as a runner, walker or volunteer please visit the official Team Lung Love website, www.teamlunglove.org.
