UnitedHealthcare, a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) company, is teaming up with the NFL's New England Patriots to raise awareness of the benefits of exercise, nutrition and other aspects of healthy living.
“We're pleased to work alongside organizations that share a commitment to helping people live healthier lives. We believe our sponsorship of this year's training camp signals the beginning of a successful partnership with one of the NFL's most storied franchises.”
To kick off the new partnership, UnitedHealthcare has been named presenting sponsor of the 2010 New England Patriots Training Camp, which opened last week in Foxborough. Fans who attend the training camp will have the opportunity to get off the sidelines at the Patriots Experience, a football-themed playground featuring interactive games to test skills in kicking, passing and tackling. Visitors to the camp can also enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including music, games, face-painting and appearances by Patriots Cheerleaders.
"The Patriots are a source of pride for many New Englanders so, by working together, we hope to inspire Patriots fans to improve their well-being and put them on a path to active, healthier futures," said Larry Renfro, executive vice president and CEO of UnitedHealth Group's Public and Senior Markets Group.
