Eggland's Best, Inc. (EB) is proud to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the world's largest breast cancer advocacy organization. For the first time in the brand's history, Eggland's Best will display the Komen for the Cure's running ribbon logo along with a pink version of their iconic "EB" stamp on their egg varieties during the autumn of 2010.
"Susan G. Komen for the Cure is working in local communities to discover and deliver the cures for breast cancer, while providing much needed support and resources" said Katrina McGhee, senior vice president, global business development & partnerships for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. "Because of partners like Eggland's Best, Komen has been able to make a difference in the lives of millions and will continue to do so until there is no longer a need."
"Eggland's Best eggs contain key nutrients, which can be part of a healthy diet and healthy lifestyle," said Charles Lanktree, president and CEO of Eggland's Best. "All of us at Eggland's Best, plus our local producers and local farmers, are proud to help Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the fight against breast cancer." EB will donate $50,000 to support Komen for the Cure in its promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
Additionally, Eggland's Best, America's No. 1 branded egg, recently announced additional improvements to its already nutritionally superior egg. All EB egg varieties - large, extra large, jumbo, cage-free and organic - now contain four times more Vitamin D, ten times more Vitamin E and over three times more Omega-3 compared to ordinary eggs. EB eggs also contain high levels of Vitamin B12 and are a good source of Vitamin A and Vitamin B2. Additionally, they contain 25 percent less saturated fat and 19 percent less cholesterol than regular eggs.
