NextGen Healthcare becomes CCHIT Certified for Dermatology and Behavioral Health

NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII) and a leading provider of healthcare information systems and connectivity solutions, today announced that NextGen® Ambulatory EHR version 5.6, a CCHIT Certified® 2011 Ambulatory EHR, has been additionally certified for Dermatology and Behavioral Health in the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology's (CCHIT®) certification program.

"NextGen Healthcare is the first EHR vendor to become CCHIT Certified® for behavioral health and one of just two vendors for dermatology. We continue to lead the industry in maintaining the most current certifications available, especially for the specialty markets," said Scott Decker, President of NextGen Healthcare.

NextGen Healthcare delivers tailored solutions to providers in more than 26 specialty markets. Earlier in 2010, NextGen Ambulatory EHR version 5.6 was additionally certified for Child Health and Cardiovascular Medicine with Advanced Reporting. Designed by physicians for physicians, NextGen® solutions include specialty-specific tools, templates and workflow automation that help streamline practices and patient management. Guided by specialty directors with extensive experience in their markets, physicians can receive specialized implementation, hands-on and 24/7 Web-based training, and knowledgeable support for their emerging needs.

The CCHIT Certified® program is an independently developed certification that includes a rigorous inspection of an EHR's integrated functionality, interoperability and security using criteria developed by CCHIT's broadly representative, expert work groups. The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology's (CCHIT®) inspection process is based on real-life medical scenarios designed to test products rigorously against the complex needs of health care providers. As part of the process, successful use is verified at live sites.
