Premier Purchasing Partners, LP, today announced that contracts have been awarded to suppliers in its new radiation oncology portfolio.
The portfolio is divided in four categories.
Contracts in the brachytherapy systems (known as remote afterloaders, curietherapy systems and endocurietherapy systems) were awarded to: Xoft Inc. of Sunnyvale, Calif.
Contracts in the external beam radiation therapy systems (medical linear accelerators, also known as linacs) were awarded to: Elekta Inc. of Norcross, Ga. and TomoTherapy of Madison, Wis.
Contracts in the radiation oncology information systems (also known as radiotherapy record and verify systems, or radiation oncology data management systems) were awarded to: Elekta Inc./IMPAC of Norcross, Ga.
Contracts in the radiation treatment planning systems (which determine the delivery parameters of a prescribed dose of radiation) were awarded to: Elekta Inc. of Norcross, Ga. and Philips Healthcare of Bothell, Wash.
Effective May 15, 2010, the agreements are available to acute care and continuum of care members of the Premier healthcare alliance.
