NextGen Ambulatory EHR version 5.6 SP1 achieves ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification

NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII) and a leading provider of healthcare information systems and connectivity solutions, announced today that NextGen® Ambulatory EHR version 5.6 SP1 is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on September 30, 2010 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“NextGen Healthcare not only offers one of the first EHRs to go beyond its existing CCHIT® 2011 certification and earn recognition through a government-named certifying body, but we also provide a full suite of products and consulting services to support providers as they become meaningful users.”

"To qualify for meaningful use incentives, eligible providers and hospitals must be sure to use an EHR that has been certified by the ONC-ATCB program," said Scott Decker, President of NextGen Healthcare. "NextGen Healthcare not only offers one of the first EHRs to go beyond its existing CCHIT® 2011 certification and earn recognition through a government-named certifying body, but we also provide a full suite of products and consulting services to support providers as they become meaningful users."

"Clients have already started installing our solution and now that we have received final government certification, we are excited to partner with them as they demonstrate meaningful use in 2011," he continued. "I encourage all providers to review the NextGen Ambulatory Path to Meaningful Use for guidance on leveraging NextGen® technology and services in their practice, and to join our educational webinars for ongoing assistance."

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more - but not all - of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.

"CCHIT is pleased to be testing and certifying products so that companies are now able to offer these products to providers who wish to purchase and implement certified EHR technology and achieve meaningful use in time for the 2011-2012 incentives," said Karen M. Bell, M.D., M.S.S., Chair, CCHIT.

2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.

NextGen Healthcare has certified its EHR technology in both programs to provide greater assurance to its customers.
