Nonin Medical, Inc. today announced that its Hudiksvall-based capnography manufacturing center, formerly MedAir AB, has changed its name to Nonin Medical AB and expanded its operations to better serve Nonin Medical's European customers and distributors. In addition to continuing to manufacture and service Nonin's European capnography products, Nonin Medical AB will provide European customers with order processing, distribution, customer and technical service support for Nonin Medical's full-line of pulse and regional oximetry, sensor and software products—a service formerly provided to Nonin Medical's European customers from the company's world headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn.
In support of Nonin's commitment to localizing operations to better support customers regionally, Nonin also announced today that it transferred manufacturing operations of its U.S. capnography products from Hudiksvall to Minneapolis. With the exception of its European capnography products, Nonin will continue to manufacture its full line of noninvasive physiological monitoring products from Minneapolis. In addition, Nonin will continue to serve its global OEM customers from Minneapolis.
"As the inventor of the fingertip pulse oximeter, Nonin Medical has a rich history of innovation and outstanding customer support that began 25 years ago and continues to the present day," said Steve Bucholz, chief operating officer, Nonin Medical, Inc. "The new center improves response time and reduces shipping expenses for our European customers and distributors by giving us the ability to provide real-time customer and technical service to Europe across our entire product line."
Nonin Medical acquired MedAir AB in 2006. The acquisition of MedAir's capnography products complemented Nonin's line of oximetry products and enables Nonin to provide customers with more choices to help them accurately monitor their patients' true condition across the widest range of patient populations and clinical settings.
