RCSLT and Wiley-Blackwell partner to publish 'International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders'

The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists has partnered with Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (NYSE: JWa), (NYSE: JWb), to publish their journal International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders (IJLCD), starting in 2011.

The RCSLT is the professional body for speech and language therapists in the UK and has over 14,000 members. It is responsible for setting, promoting and maintaining high standards in education, clinical practice and ethical conduct in the discipline. Together Wiley-Blackwell and the RCSLT will develop the journal to benefit all those working in speech, language and communication careers—in their learning, teaching, research and professional practice.

Philip Carpenter, Vice-President at Wiley-Blackwell states, "We are very pleased to be partnering with The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists to publish IJLCD, and to further support their academic and professional work in the areas of speech, language, and communication. With this partnership we are strengthening our existing offerings in allied health and communication disorders."

Kamini Gadhok, Chief Executive of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, remarks, "We are delighted to have chosen Wiley-Blackwell as the publishers of the IJLCD. We look forward to seeing the benefits of their worldwide contacts and innovative marketing approaches to the benefit of RCSLT members, their clients and the dissemination of the latest scientific developments in the field of speech, language, and communication."

The partnership reinforces Wiley-Blackwell's already prominent position as publisher for more than 750 society partners, including many allied health associations and professional bodies working globally.
