Taking a page from the personal playbook of Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy, Halek Energy LLC has made a donation to Scott & White Healthcare of Temple, Texas.
Through its philanthropic arm Halek Charities, Halek Energy has made a financial donation to Scott & White, which is building a new stand-alone regional children's hospital that will be the first between Austin and Dallas. McCoy announced a significant financial contribution to Scott & White in October for the new hospital.
"We are pleased to support The Children's Hospital of Scott & White," said Dan Mathis, accountant for Halek Energy whose family is acquainted with the McCoy family from their days in West Texas.
"Halek Energy loves helping children, and we want to make a positive difference in the lives of families who will soon no longer have to commute several hours for pediatric hospital care."
Halek Energy, an independent oil and gas exploration company based in Southlake, Texas, has made similar contributions to causes such as Operation Christmas Child and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Halek Energy CEO Jason Halek said Halek Energy is committed to supporting numerous charitable, humanitarian and philanthropic causes through Halek Charities, an IRS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
"We care deeply for the wellbeing of children, and we're delighted to support the incredible efforts of Scott & White Healthcare as it makes the new pediatric hospital in Temple a reality," said Halek.
