Today, Awarepoint represents the largest enterprise-wide U.S. hospital client base for RTLS in healthcare market segment.
These results represent a 30% increase in contracted hospitals, 50% increase in square feet of RTLS network coverage, and a 58% increase in healthcare asset tags under management by Awarepoint from 2009 year-end figures. Additionally, revenue growth exceeded 100% for the third year in a row.
Awarepoint is a full RTLS solution provider, including hardware, SaaS delivered software, pro-active network maintenance, account management, and consulting services. This approach has generated rapid adoption of Awarepoint in the U.S. hospital market and driven significant annual corporate growth since the Company first commercialized its ZigBee®-based RTLS offering in 2007.
With its patented and patent-pending technologies, Awarepoint continues to expand its RTLS footprint throughout the healthcare sector to customers that include major integrated delivery networks, prestigious teaching institutions, premiere independent facilities and military medical centers, including some of the best, most recognized hospitals in the U.S. such as: Adventist Health, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, Jackson Health System of Miami, FL, Kaiser Permanente, 81st Medical Group Hospital (Keesler Air Force Base), Spectrum Health System, Texoma Medical Center, University of Mississippi Medical Center, University of California San Diego Medical Center, University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, University of Mississippi Medical Center, and Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
"RTLS asset tracking and management provides us a better way to deliver care, locate our assets and use them more efficiently," stated Ed Smith, Executive Director of Supply Chain Management at University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Awarepoint's leadership in enterprise-wide RTLS adoption assists hospitals to more efficiently and safely manage increased patient volumes. In a real-time aware environment, hospitals can manage these increased volumes with the same or fewer resources. Industry Analyst Gartner released a Research Note (25 March 2010 ID:G00174771)proclaiming the Top 9 Actions for the Healthcare Delivery Organization CIO. In it, Gartner indicates their belief that "to remain competitive, health systems must evolve to "Real-time Enterprises (RTEs)". They must redesign and transform their critical clinical and business processes, to successfully operate as RTEs, health systems will expand their use of automation, instrumentation, location and condition-sensing technologies..."
Awarepoint's rapid-impact implementation, along with its differentiated technology and full solution offering of software applications, account management and consulting services have provided hospital clients significant efficiency and clinical value.
"We offer the fastest time-to-value in the enterprise-wide RTLS marketplace for hospitals today. Awarepoint has announced plans to significantly invest in expanding its software capabilities in 2011. "The Company's vision is to enable true enterprise awareness to provide critical data and analytics required to improve workflows, processes, and interactions associated with all moveable assets in the hospital environment - equipment, personnel and patients.
