Prognosis brings EHR success to providers across the country

Prognosis Health Information Systems is making good on its mission of bringing electronic health records success to providers across the country. The company recently linked agreements for its ChartAccess® Comprehensive EHR with three hospitals:

The sales momentum is just one example of the growth that the company has been experiencing recently. Over the past year, Prognosis has increased revenue by more than 200%, doubled its staff, and expanded into six states by providing its technology to hospitals ranging in size from 25 to 250 beds.

Prognosis has distinguished itself as a trailblazing EHR vendor by:

Developing innovative technology. The ChartAccess Comprehensive EHR is a web-native system built upon a "cloud computing" model where user-friendly software applications are made available as a service over an encrypted health information network. As a result, users quickly and adeptly adopt the system while provider organizations take advantage of a low total cost of ownership.  

ChartAccess was one of the first two Complete EHRs to receive ONC-ATCB-2011-2012 certification. ChartAccess earned the designation on October 1, 2010.

Supporting Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) success.  An innovative RHIO, formed by four Texas hospitals, is proving that small community hospitals can band together to quickly tap into the clinical and operational benefits associated with EHRs. The RHIO, which includes 45-bed Anson (TX) General Hospital, 25-bed Stamford (Texas) Memorial Hospital, 20-bed Stonewall Memorial Hospital, Aspermont, Texas, and 14-bed Throckmorton (Texas) County Memorial Hospital, is serving as a model for electronic health record (EHR) adoption in rural health organizations across the country. In fact, Ted Matthews, CEO of Anson General and one of the leaders who brought the RHIO to fruition, was recently recognized with an "EHR Game Changers Award" from Health Data Management magazine.

Additional hospitals are expected to join the Texas RHIO – and Prognosis is also planning to help other hospitals implement the model in other states. Prognosis is currently working with an organization in Missouri to develop a health information exchange (HIE) that will enable providers to easily and securely exchange clinical information.

Relying on strategic leadership. Prognosis is expanding its executive leadership team to support the company's accelerated growth. The company is adding a number of senior level executives with significant clinical and healthcare information technology experience to its team. In addition, Prognosis formed a partnership with OpenView, an expansion stage technology investment firm based in Boston. As an investment partner, OpenView is offering strategic management support to Prognosis as the company brings its top of the line product to hospitals nationwide. George Roberts, a partner at OpenView and former member of the executive management team at Oracle, Inc., is a member of the Prognosis board – and offers his sophisticated insight and experience into the strategic challenges confronting Prognosis.

Moving all clients toward meaningful use.  Financial incentives emanating from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act are prompting provider organizations to invest in electronic records systems. To ensure that its customers qualify for their share of the incentive monies, Prognosis is working closely with each of its customers to effectively leverage technology and monitor progress toward the government's meaningful use requirements. With its highly effective implementation program, Prognosis has been able to move provider organizations from EHR "kick-off" to attestation in six months or less. In addition, Prognosis has been selected by the Georgia Hospital Association as the EHR vendor of choice that can help members achieve meaningful use quickly and cost effectively.
