Food ingredients portfolio continues its geographical expansion

In 2011, the Food ingredients portfolio continues its geographical expansion and develops further with the industry it serves. Economic recovery, investment in emerging markets and focus on health characterise the industry this year. Consequently, the Fi portfolio has taken upon new challenges launching new shows in the Philippines and China, and investing further in educational content and special features at the different trade shows.

2011 is also an important milestone for the Fi portfolio with the 25th anniversary of Fi Europe. The show was launched in 1986 as a small conference in Utrecht, The Netherlands, and has since developed into the leading event of the global processed food industry. Fi Europe 2011 will celebrate 25 years of successful operations and strong relationship with the industry.  The exhibition is almost fully booked and will feature all key ingredient manufacturers. More than 20,000 food professionals are expected to attend the show held in Paris Nord Villepinte.

Healthy growth on the agenda

New developments of the Fi portfolio this year include the first Food ingredients trade show in the Philippines, which will be co-located with the 50th Convention of PAFT, the Philippine Association of Food Technologists. "As one of the most significantly growing markets in the ASEAN region, we know that both the domestic market and the global industry will benefit from networking and educational opportunities in the Philippines," says Mr. Vincent Brain, the Event Director. The show takes place on 6-8 July in Manila.

2011 will also see the introduction of a new show in China, Nutraceuticals Products China (NPC), held alongside the established Fi Asia-China Hi Ni China and dedicated to the nutraceuticals market. Nutraceuticals are also on the agenda in Fi India 2011, which will dedicate a pavilion to health products and supplements. Also Health ingredients (Hi) South America is returning this year to Brazil, where the demand for functional foods is growing like nowhere else in the world.
