Henry Schein MicroMD EMR Version 7.5 attains ONC-ATCB Complete EHR certification status

Henry Schein MicroMD®, a provider of proven and cost-effective practice management (PM) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, announced today that its MicroMD EMR Version 7.5 achieved ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Complete EHR (Electronic Health Record) Certification, and can help health care providers using Electronic Health Record (EHR) technology meet the requirements needed to receive financial incentives earmarked under President Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.

MicroMD EMR Version 7.5 attained ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Complete EHR certification status through the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), a U.S. Office of the National Coordinator - Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB), in accordance with the applicable Eligible Provider certification criteria adopted by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The certification was formalized on February 16, 2011. The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria, and that EHR modules meet one or more, but not all, of the criteria approved by HHS for either eligible health care provider or hospital technology.  The EHR certification enables health care providers to meet the Stage 1 meaningful use standards to qualify for the federal incentive payments established under ARRA, and outlined in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) EHR Incentive Program.

"We are pleased that MicroMD EMR 7.5 has been awarded Complete EHR certification status, further helping our customers to meet meaningful use requirements," said Keith Slater, Vice President and General Manager for Henry Schein MicroMD.  "This certification demonstrates the strengths and capabilities that our EMR system delivers to physicians –helping practitioners to qualify for incentive payments, as well as improve the workflow and productivity of their practice, while enhancing the delivery of care."

Mr. Slater added, "We understand the complexities of the ARRA guidelines and challenges physicians are facing as they work to implement a certified EMR system.  Henry Schein MicroMD is committed to maintaining EHR certification requirements, which will help our customers move forward with confidence into this new era of health care automation."
