The MED Group creates National Orthotics and Prosthetics Network

The MED Group, a Managed Health Care Associates, Inc. (MHA) company, and a leading group purchasing and business solutions company focused on Home Medical Equipment providers is pleased to announce the creation of The MED Group National Orthotics and Prosthetics Network.  Tim Pederson (formerly of WestMed Rehab) has joined The MED Group and will be leading the development of The MED Group's National Orthotics & Prosthetics Network.  Tim Pederson has been very active in the industry as a board member of AAHomecare, past chair of the Complex Rehab Mobility Council (CRMC), and past President of Midwest Association for Medical Equipment Services (MAMES).

Jeff Woodham, Sr. Vice President and General Manager of The MED Group commented, "The changing reimbursement environment within the industry is creating the opportunity for more providers to expand into new business lines that further enhance their respective service offerings. Orthotics and Prosthetics represents a significant opportunity and the development of the MED Orthotics & Prosthetics Network will help MED members enter into this new product category. The initial launch of the program will focus on MED members but The MED Group will also be reaching out to the 1,800 existing O&P providers to help them with their purchasing power and business efficiencies. In addition, we are extremely confident that Tim's knowledge and experience will serve as a tremendous resource for MED members. Tim is leading our efforts to help members look beyond DME and complex Rehab, and expand into additional profitable product categories they may not have considered in the past."

Tim Pederson will be introducing this new program at The MED National Business meeting, April 12, 2011, 10:30am in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Flamingo Hotel. The focus of the presentation will be about the Orthotics & Prosthetics opportunity and how The MED Group will be assisting members. The MED Group encourages all members to attend the presentation to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
