Latest advancements in telemedicine to be presented at ATA 2011

The latest technologies, research and applications in telemedicine will be presented at the 16th Annual Meeting of the American Telemedicine Association, which will take place Sunday, May 1 - Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida.

Journalists will have access to hundreds of researchers and experts from the military, federal government, academia, as well as industry executives. ATA 2011 is the world's largest scientific meeting and exposition focusing exclusively on telemedicine, telehealth and remote medical technologies. Highlights of this year's meeting include:

  • More than 250 exhibitors showcase cutting-edge technologies and services: everything from robotics to microtechnology, from the latest smart phone apps to wearable wireless sensors
  • Latest research findings in mental health treatment, chronic disease management, emergency response and more
  • Experts address impact of health care reform on telemedicine and what hurdles still remain
  • Patients whose lives have been saved or touched by telemedicine share personal stories
