SRS Medical today announced the formation of Restore Continence™, a women's pelvic health program based on the use of a comprehensive suite of medical devices for diagnosing and treating urinary incontinence. The Program will be officially launched at the Annual Clinical Meeting of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists on May 2nd - May 4th in Washington, D.C. (Booth # 901).
“Incontinence degrades the quality of life for millions of women, but it varies in type and severity and it is present in women of very different ages and medical conditions”
"Incontinence degrades the quality of life for millions of women, but it varies in type and severity and it is present in women of very different ages and medical conditions," says Kevin M. Connolly, CEO of SRS Medical. "The widely varying nature of incontinence can make it labor intensive to treat. Restore Continence™ is intended to increase physician efficiency with a tool kit of clinically validated devices that provide the ability to effectively deliver almost all procedures required for Best Practice treatment of female urinary incontinence. Program focus is on conservative treatments, since surveys show that most women prefer them."
The Restore Continence™ program starts with first-line therapies such as the StepFree™ vaginal weights to help improve pelvic muscle tone at home. The next line of treatments are performed in the office and include the Aware™ EMG biofeedback and stimulation instruments for developing voluntary control of pelvic muscles. In cases where conservative procedures are not sufficient, SRS Medical provides physicians with the latest diagnostic tools, including the UroScan® bladder ultrasound and EasyPro™ urodynamics to help inform the next course of treatment and medically justify surgical procedures. For women with prolapse-related incontinence who are not candidates for surgery, SRS Medical also offers the EvaCare® line of pessaries.
