Cancer survivor and seven-time Tour de France champion, Lance Armstrong, will be in Calgary September 8 to support the work of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) - Prairies/NWT Region during the Foundation's 25th anniversary.
As part of LinkPink 2011, Lance will lead a fundraising group of individual and team cyclists on a 60 km ride in the morning. Later that day, he will deliver an inspiring message about cancer and participate in a question and answer session moderated by legendary cycling commentator Phil Liggett during a dinner at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre.
"I am honored to return to Calgary in September to not only help the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation celebrate their 25th anniversary, but raise important funds for their cancer research initiatives," says Armstrong.
"We are so proud to announce Lance Armstrong's involvement again with the Foundation, and we are incredibly appreciative of his support," says CBCF-Prairies/NWT Region CEO, Trish Bronsch. "To have arguably one of the most well known and influential cancer advocates in the world visit Calgary as a supporter of the CBCF is truly an honour."
