UHC inaugurates new 77,109-square-foot headquarters in Chicago

UHC, a national organization representing 90 percent of the nation's academic medical centers, has announced the opening of its new headquarters in downtown Chicago.  A long-time Chicago-area business, UHC relocated its offices from the suburb of Oak Brook to 155 N. Wacker Drive. The organization's 12-year lease at the new 77,109-square-foot headquarters marks one of the biggest downtown deals of the first quarter.

"We are pleased to begin a new chapter for UHC and are excited about the opportunities for greater engagement with our members and the many other health-related organizations in the city," said Irene M. Thompson, President and Chief Executive Officer at UHC.

With the move, UHC brings 250 employees downtown and has plans for further employee growth over the next few years. This move further highlights the continued growth of job opportunities for the citizens of Chicago, as well as the strong presence of national health care industry organizations and associations with headquarters and offices in the city.

UHC helps its members adapt to the dynamic health care environment and improve the quality of health care in the U.S. The member-owned alliance provides extensive comparative data and analysis, proven performance improvement resources, strategic counsel, national awards, networking events, and public policy support.
