ASM Press announces the availability of the newest edition of its authoritative reference for clinical laboratory professionals. The Manual of Clinical Microbiology, 10th edition, is available in both print and, for the first time, a digital edition.
"The 10th edition of the Manual of Clinical Microbiology marks a significant milestone in the evolution of this important work," says Editor-in-Chief James Versalovic of Texas Children's Hospital. "For the first time in addition to the print edition, the Manual of Clinical Microbiology is available as a digital edition. The digital edition includes access to a library of more than 400 additional high-resolution images not found in the print edition."
The 10th edition of the Manual of Clinical Microbiology continues to set the standard for state-of-the-science laboratory practice. A collaborative effort of 22 editors and more than 267 authors from around the world, the Manual's 149 chapters are filled with the latest findings on the clinical significance of virtually all pathogenic microorganisms. Through precise step-by-step guidance, the Manual enables readers to correctly perform the appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, and susceptibility tests and interpret the results.
Retaining all the features of the print product, the digital edition offers significant enhancements to the user experience. In addition to the Image Library, the site provides a state-of-the-art search engine, references that are linked within the product and also externally (to PubMed and CrossRef), and the ability to save searches and to save and print PDFs of the chapters. The digital edition presents a host of useful tools, such as bookmarking, highlighting, and note-taking and can be accessed anywhere an Internet connection is available.
"I am delighted to finally deliver to you the latest edition of the Manual of Clinical Microbiology. It will continue to stand for many years as the most authoritative reference in our field," says Versalovic.
