In a post in the State Department's "DipNote" blog, Krysten Carrera, a Presidential Management fellow at the National Cancer Institute currently serving in the Bureau of International Organization Affairs, discusses "the growing international effort to address the threat of chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs)." She highlights the United States-Latin America Cancer Research Network (US-LA CRN), which "engages at both the government to government and investigator levels to build cancer research capacity, provide specialized training and co-develop cancer research studies in [Latin American] countries and in the United States" (8/16).
