At Bayshore Community Hospital, making patients and guests feel at home while they're away from home for a hospital stay is top of mind. While clinical care remains the Hospital's top priority, it is now enhancing the total hospital experience of patients with a new service called Concierge Care. Concierge Care was formed to consistently address personal or "non-clinical needs," making patients and their guests as comfortable as possible.
Concierge Care is the new personal concierge service, which offers those visiting Bayshore direct access to a multitude of services. Similar to what one would find in a hotel, the Concierge welcomes visitors in Bayshore's lobby and is available to assist with a variety of needs during their stay.
"Any time spent at a hospital can take you out of your element, and when you're away from home for a hospital stay, making sure you feel at home and comfortable is essential," says Timothy J. Hogan, regional president of Bayshore Community Hospital and Riverview Medical Center. "Concierge Care was launched at our sister hospital Riverview Medical Center two years ago and has been a resounding success as indicated by positive patient feedback."
This complimentary service, which is available to all patients and guests of Bayshore, provides access to services such as help with transportation and lodging requests for visitors, pet assistance, room service and restaurant delivery, and spa services like manicures and haircuts.
In addition to specialty services that can be requested either by placing a simple phone call or visiting the concierge desk in the lobby, the program is based upon creating a health care experience that goes beyond the exceptional clinical care delivered. Patients will find freshly wrapped pillows when they are admitted, and members of Bayshore's Guest Relations Team will personally visit each new patient.
"The feedback received on the Concierge Care programs at Riverview Medical Center, Ocean Medical Center, and Jersey Shore University Medical Center has been inspiring," says Hogan. "At Riverview alone, we're seeing more than 1,000 Concierge Care requests a month! It's our hope that by helping with non-clinical needs and offering specialty services, patients can better focus their energy on the healing process."
