Fingertip Formulary, the leading provider of access and insight into
formulary data, announced the launch of their iPad applications today at
the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) annual meeting.
Pharmaceutical reps can now access real time formulary data searchable
by: state, health plan, drug class or specific drug name on their iPad.
Fingertip Formulary covers formulary data for 1800 plans nationwide
including Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and Pharmacy Benefit Managers.
Formulary data is updated on a rolling basis to provide the most
accurate search results for its customers.
"The new iPad applications are the best of all worlds in terms of
functionality and content," said Fingertip Formulary Senior Vice
President, Sales and Development Mike Green. "A rep can be sitting in
front of a physician and pull up the formulary data on their iPad that
the healthcare professional needs to support their prescribing
decisions."
Clients that license Fingertip Formulary Publisher can now also use
their iPad to create formulary tables in real-time with their customized
brand-specific templates. Tables can be created at the state,
metropolitan statistical area or local level. Reps can create a
formulary table in their car and have it ready to share with a physician
in their office. Reps can also create a table on their iPad, send it to
a printer electronically and pick up the hard copies in real time.
Pharmaceutical companies are starting to arm their field sales forces
with iPads and other tablets. According to Manhattan Research's ePharma
Physician report, 38 percent of ePharma Physicians have seen a pharma or
biotech sales rep use an iPad or other tablet during a face-to-face
meeting in a 12 month period ending in June 2011.
"We know the use of iPads by pharma reps is only going to increase over
time," said Green. "We have created these new apps with that in mind."
