UK medical breath monitoring manufacturer Bedfont Scientific Ltd has agreed the acquisition of Logan Research Ltd in a deal to move the company into a new area of scientific applications for breath research.
Bedfont Scientific Ltd, established in 1976, research, development and manufacture a range of breath analysis monitors for medical applications, including smoking cessation, gastrointestinal disorders, inhaled nitric oxide therapy and asthma.

Logan Research Ltd, established in 1994, are real pioneers in the development and manufacture of real-time trace gas analysis equipment, namely the well-known LR2000 and mass spectrometry for measuring airway inflammation in the medical area of asthma. This was the first clinical system for airway inflammation available and is still regarded as a ‘Gold Standard’ method today, cited in many clinical research papers worldwide.
