Sartorius Stedim Biotech, a leading international supplier for the pharma and biotech industries, has launched the BioWelder® Total Containment (TC).
BioWelder® TC featuring innovative technology permits sterile connection of liquid-filled thermoplastic tubing that has an outer diameter (OD) of up to 1 inch and that is used on disposable bags or bag assemblies in all biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
The sterile welding process is fully automated and can be performed in non- classified or classified environments while maintaining product sterility.
The thermal weld produced by BioWelder® TC ensures an extraordinary level of stability, thus guaranteeing an ultra-safe connection. The thermal weld has been qualified by applying the most stringent and innovative test regimes.
Biological, physical and extractables tests were combined to obtain data representing a variety of process conditions, including critical applications.
