United Surgical Partners International's (USPI) Physician Strategy Group (PSG) and Provista, LLC announced today that they are working together to deliver supply chain services to over 9,000 physician customers who perform procedures at surgical facilities centers operated by USPI. The program, called Purchasing Plus, is expected to help those physicians save 10-15% on supplies, services, and capital equipment.
"This is a priority for us," said Matt Pate, President of the Physician Strategy Group at USPI. "Successful physicians are vital to our success and we want to bring greater value to them. We are excited to offer Purchasing Plus to the USPI physician network because it represents the type of quality service our physicians deserve. There are several supply chain options in the market today, but after an extensive analysis of the dominant players, we are confident that we selected the right partner, Provista, because of their commitment to service, choice and value."
"We are very excited about working with USPI's Physician Strategy Group on this initiative", said Dena Kitchens, Senior Director of Physician Services at Provista. "USPI's Physician Strategy Group is on the forefront of issues and challenges in the physician practice setting, such as reducing overhead costs. Coupled with USPI's position as a leader in the health care industry and their interest in supporting the success of their affiliated physicians, we believe this strategic partnership will further distinguish them in the ASC market."
"Purchasing Plus fits very well into the suite of services that the Physician Strategy Group at USPI offers our physician customers. This program is completely free—there are no fees and no minimum purchase is required." stated Pate. Physician practices wishing to enroll in the Purchasing Plus program can sign up on-line through the Physician Strategy Group web portal (http://physicianstrategygroup.com/services/#purchasing-plus-program). Additionally, paper forms are also available on the website for those who prefer that alternative enrollment method.
The Purchasing Plus program offers substantial savings on a wide range of products, services, pharmaceuticals, and capital equipment. Using the power of Novation's contracting capabilities, Provista can help physician groups save on approximately 85% of the things they purchase for their practice. Novation, Provista's contracting company, represents about $40 billion in annual purchases through their contract portfolio.
