ProMedica Toledo Hospital is the only hospital in northwest Ohio with a cardiologist on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack. ProMedica cardiologists treat a wide variety of diseases and disorders of the heart and vascular system. This month, the hospital launched a new advertising campaign about the new 24/7 Cardiologist program.
At ProMedica Toledo Hospital a cardiologist is now available when patients arrive at the emergency room to immediately assess and treat their symptoms. The cardiologist will also provide in-depth consultations to patients and families on the best treatment options.
In Lucas County, about one-third of adults are at high risk of having a heart attack due to high blood pressure, high cholesterol and obesity. Common heart attack warning signs include chest discomfort, shortness of breath, cold sweats and nausea. ProMedica offers an online heart health assessment to help people determine their risk based on their personal health and family history.
