Celleration introduces new MIST 360 Applicator

Celleration, Inc., a privately held medical device company focused on developing and commercializing therapeutic ultrasound healing technologies, announces the launch of its new MIST 360 Applicator.  The new applicator design provides increased flexibility to access even the most difficult to reach wounds while allowing larger wounds to be treated more easily.

MIST Therapy is low frequency ultrasound delivered without contact through a saline mist. Unlike conventional wound treatments that are limited to treating the surface, MIST Therapy delivers sound waves into and below the wound bed to reduce barriers to healing, like bacteria and sustained inflammation. At the same time, the sound waves stimulate the cells to shorten the healing process.  The release of MIST 360 makes it far easier for healthcare providers to treat wounds that are larger and/or in difficult to access areas of the body.  "We are very pleased to be able to provide another treatment solution for these difficult to treat wounds and to demonstrate Celleration's commitment to meeting our customers' needs through bringing innovation to the wound care market," stated Mark Wagner, CEO of Celleration.

In the US alone, up to $25 billion is spent each year to treat chronic, non-healing wounds.  Providing technologies that reduce the time to healing yet are easy for healthcare providers to use are necessary to reduce these expenditures and improve patient quality of care.  "The MIST 360 is a dramatic, welcomed improvement to a tremendously successful treatment option utilized in our wound clinic," stated Nicholas Spirito, MD, FACS, ABWMS, WCC, Director of Wound Services at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus, Lowell, MA.  "This device is more user-friendly, allows more complete administration of treatment on difficult wounds, and has improved patient comfort and satisfaction during ultrasonic MIST Therapy."
