The new ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Cancer and Infusion Center includes a private, convenient entrance for patients and their families as well as nine treatment rooms and a separate area for physician consultations and exams. The private treatment areas feature natural light, personal TVs, and serene artwork. Additional renovations were made to the laboratory and inpatient pharmacy to support cancer and infusion services as well as advancing technology and equipment needs.

"We had several very important goals in mind when making plans for the new Cancer and Infusion Center," said Dan Schwanke, president, ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital. "Provide better access, enhance privacy, and create a more attractive and healing environment for our patients and families."

The Fostoria center is the newest addition to the ProMedica Cancer Institute which offers comprehensive cancer care to patients across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Its central hub and the region's largest provider of radiation therapy is Hickman Cancer Center at ProMedica Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio. It is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer® for achieving a rigorous set of clinical care and programmatic standards for providing quality cancer care to patients.

"The cancer program in Fostoria has a long-standing tradition of supporting the community by offering health screenings and wide-ranging patient support services," said Ann Kujawa, associate vice president, ProMedica Cancer Institute. "The center provides an expanded new healing environment that gives Fostoria residents access to specialized cancer care available within our comprehensive institute."
