Physicians Endoscopy announces acquisition of minority interest in DHA

Physicians Endoscopy, LLC (PE), the leading GI ASC development and management company in the ASC industry, is pleased to announce the acquisition of a minority interest in the Digestive Health Associates Endoscopy Center, LLC (DHA) located in Stoneham, MA. DHA is a partnership between the six-physician practice, Digestive Health Associates P.C. and Physicians Endoscopy, who will provide administrative services to the facility. DHA is a single specialty ambulatory surgical treatment center focused on gastrointestinal disorders.

The 4,600 square foot, three-room endoscopy center is designed for total patient safety and comfort. Described as the premier endoscopy experience, DHA provides a complete range of the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. DHA holds a valid Massachusetts DON. The center is staffed with six certified gastroenterologists who are long-term residents in the community including: Fehmida Chipty, MD; David Fefferman, MD; Eric Libby, MD; Jose Marcal, MD; Al Muggia, MD and William Vanneman, MD.

"Our partnership with Physicians Endoscopy provides the ideal business structure for our group. PE's leadership team willingly listened to our concerns and crafted a deal that reflects an understanding of the complexities that our changing landscape demands today. It was extremely important for us to partner with an experienced company who is single specialty focused in gastroenterology. We look forward to a long successful relationship," states Dr. Fefferman, MD.

"Working with Dr. Fefferman throughout the transaction has been a rewarding experience. It was PE's objective to provide a flexible business model that the physicians felt could sustain the current and future changes in the healthcare environment for many years to come. DHA is a beautiful center with a highly dedicated team including physicians who are national experts in GI. PE is proud to be their new partner," states Nicole Semeraro, VP of New Business Development, Physicians Endoscopy.
