Advances in Neonatal Care, the leading source of professional information for neonatal nursing professionals, announced today that its content and CE opportunities are available on the iPad. The Official Journal of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, Advances in Neonatal Care is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, a part of Wolters Kluwer Health.
"Offering our journal on the iPad allows us to bring our premier neonatal nursing content available into an increasingly-digital NICU environment, providing flexible access to the clinical and practice information essential to providing high-quality, evidence-based patient care," said NANN President Susan Reinarz, MSN RN NNP-BC. The new app is being introduced at NANN's 28th Annual Educational Conference in Palm Springs, CA, this week.
In addition to the October issue, Advances in Neonatal Care is offering a featured supplemental issue on Developmental Care, available in print and on the app. This CE supplement, sponsored by an educational grant from Drager, allows nurses to earn 5.5 complimentary Continuing Education Units by reading the content and taking the CE test, which is available through NursingCenter.com or through the printed supplement.
Evidence-Based Content, Provided Digitally
The iPad edition of Advances in Neonatal Care presents each issue in a state-of-the art digital format for a print-like reading experience. Each issue is delivered directly to the reader's iPad for convenient download and includes enhanced features, such as video and the ability to share articles and content via email. The app also provides links back to the journal website, where subscribers can search, access, complete continuing education opportunities and read the full contents of every issue of from 2001 to the present.
Subsequent issues of the journal will be available on the iPad app on the same bimonthly schedule as the current online and print editions. During an initial trial period, all readers of the journal will have free full access to open issues on the iPad. After this free introductory period, subscribers will continue to enjoy full access via a simple login process.
