International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals symposium to be held in Nevada

The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) announces its 2013 Symposium slated for March 21-24 at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa in Henderson, Nevada. The program is celebrating its 27th year with five keynote speakers as headliners addressing innovative approaches to eating disorder treatment as well as thirty-two workshop presenters and preconference  training sessions. Plus, for the first time, precertification courses will be offered at the symposium with iaedp advisory board faculty.

Established in 1985, iaedp (http://www.iaedp.com) provides educational programs and training standards for eating disorder specialists and other medical professionals caring for those suffering from the full spectrum of disordered eating. The group offers a highly respected certification process for specializing in eating disorder treatment.

The 2013 Symposium offers four days of training sessions and instructive presentations including five keynote speakers: Craig Johnson, PhD, FAED, CEDS; Pam Peeke, MD; Ovidio Bernudez, MD, FAED, CEDS; Jeff Rediger, MD; Raymond DiGuiseppe, PhD.  Dr. Johnson has been a leader in the field of eating disorders for over 30 years and the founding editor of the International Journal of Eating Disorders and the Eating Disorders Research Society. Dr. Peeke, internationally recognized for her expertise on nutrition, stress, fitness and public health, is a New York Times Best Selling Author of The Hunger Fix. Dr. Bernudez is the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Services at Eating Recovery Center in Denver and an internationally recognized lecturer on eating disorders and childhood obesity. Dr. Rediger is medical director at McLean Hospital Southeast and the Institute for Psychological and Spiritual Development as well as an instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. DiGuiseppe, a specialist in anger diagnostic disorders, is a professor of psychology at St. John's University.
