University Hospitals (UH) Neurological Institute, in partnership with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, will present the 10th Annual Cleveland Neurocritical Care & Stroke Conference: With a Little Help From My Friends on March 8, 2013 at Case Western Reserve University's Iris S. and Bert L. Wolstein Research Building.
This daylong symposium on stroke is designed for neurologists, neurosurgeons, neurointensivists, internists, family medicine physicians, and emergency medicine physicians. Nurses and other allied health professionals also may find this education of value.
The symposium will conclude with a tribute to international authority on stroke Anthony J. Furlan, MD, who is Chairman of Neurology at UH and Case Western Reserve University. Chairman since 2007, he has led national clinical research trials, including PROACT II and DEDAS for evaluation of new thrombolysis therapies in acute stroke, and CLOSURE examining stroke prevention in patients with the congenital heart defect known as patent foramen ovale (PFO).
As part of the conference, the 4th Annual Case Western Reserve University Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound Workshop will be held on March 9, 2013 in the Bolwell Health Center, Room 5198, at UH Case Medical Center.
