AWHR participates in the Relay For Life of Palm Bay event to support cancer research

AWHR was proud to participate in the Relay For Life of Palm Bay event on April 6, 2013. Eight AWHR employees participated in the event along with 44 other teams and more than 600 participants! This particular Relay For Life event has raised more than $115,000 for cancer research and support to contribute towards the millions raised nationwide.

Relay For Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society, one of the most well-known charities across the nation as they continue to fundraise in a quest for a cure for cancer.  As part of the world-wide event, Relay For Life teams will camp overnight while taking turns walking the track.  Since cancer never sleeps, Relay For Life events run for a minimum of 18 hours up to 24 hours.

The American Cancer Society is one of the primary organizations making strides for cancer research with a dedication to fundraising in the quest for more birthdays. With the help of millions of volunteers, the American Cancer Society – primarily driven by the Relay For Life Events – fund much-needed programs such as the Hope Lodge that provides accommodations for patients, Road to Recovery providing transportation to treatment centers, Look Good...Feel Better providing beauty techniques to cancer patients to help with their self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments and Reach to Recovery support groups.
