IOF to conduct Asia's key medical congress devoted to osteoporosis, musculoskeletal diseases

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), in cooperation with the the Hong Kong Osteoporosis Foundation and the Osteoporosis Society of Hong Kong, is staging Asia's key medical congress devoted to osteoporosis and related musculoskeletal diseases.

Delegates will enjoy an enriching and clinically oriented programme that will present the latest in osteoporosis management as well as new clinical research, particularly from the Asia-Pacific region. "We're pleased to announce that a record 233 abstract submissions were received. The Meeting programme will not only offer delegates an excellent overview of the latest developments in the field, it will also provide a highly regarded international platform for clinical research from the region," said Scientific Committee Co-Chair Dr Tai Pang Ip, Committee Member of the Asia-Pacific Regional Advisory Council, IOF cum Immediate Past President of the Osteoporosis Society of Hong Kong.

The IOF Regionals 4th Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Meeting, to be held in English, will draw more than 1200 international delegates. Delegates can earn Hong Kong CPD, CDE and CME credits. The Meeting has also been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) and has been designated for up to 16 hours of European external CME.

The programme includes:

  • 19 plenary lectures, covering epidemiology, pathogenesis, secondary fracture prevention, bone healing and repair, therapy, osteoarthritis, muscle biology and clinical fragility
  • 12 Meet the Expert sessions on six clinical topics
  • Roundtables on spine and postmenopausal women & bone health
  • Oral and poster presentations
  • IOF Young Investigator Awards and presentations
  • Satellite Symposia
  • Informative exhibition of products and services
