Kaiser Permanente's Medicare health plan website launches new seminar search tool

Kaiser Permanente's highly rated Medicare health plan website, kp.org/medicare, has launched a new feature that is designed to help seniors find information more easily and conveniently. Medicare beneficiaries can search online for Kaiser Permanente Medicare seminars in their area using their own criteria, and they can register online for a seminar of their choice. Through this new RSVP Web capability, those who provide their email address will receive an email reminder with location information and a phone number to call for more details.

"Choosing the right Medicare health plan is a choice with a big impact. Our goal is to make it simple and easy for seniors to get information and learn more about their options so they can make an informed choice about their Medicare health plan," said Mary Woods, vice president, Kaiser Permanente Medicare marketing and communications.

Out of 133 Medicare plan websites nationwide in 2013, the Kaiser Permanente Medicare website received the highest overall rating for MedicareWebWatch certification, according to HealthMetrix Research Inc. The sites are rated for excellence in content, design, user-friendly technology and privacy assurance.

Medicare beneficiaries are increasingly researching and managing their health care online. The seminar registration tool helps address the evolving needs and expectations of aging baby boomers, caregivers, and others who participate in the selection of a Medicare plan. Kaiser Permanente website visitors also can find information about Medicare Parts A, B, C and D, the Medicare Star Quality Ratings, and enroll for Medicare benefits online and provide feedback about their website experience.
