Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine installs MILabs PET-SPECT-CT preclinical imaging system

Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in Fuzhou, China has installed a MILabs VECTor/CT system to boost their neurological research with preclinical Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT). The PET and SPECT images are automatically registered with a fully integrated low-dose X-ray CT system. The VECTor/CT delivers ultra-high resolution SPECT and PET imaging enabling accurate quantification of local concentrations of radiolabelled molecules in e.g. brain, cardiac, cancer and musculoskeletal research.

“I am excited to use the new VECTor/CT system in my research as it provides the possibility to use ultrahigh resolution SPECT and PET simultaneously, which is a unique advantage for my neural function studies. Especially, it can quantitatively reflect the recovery of brain function after acupuncture in animal models of stroke in vivo. I believe that the VECTor/CT system will play a very important role in Traditional Chinese Medicine research”, according to Prof. Lidian Chen, President of the university and Head of the brain function research group.

MILabs B.V. is honored to have the opportunity to work with such a prestigious institution in China, together with the HongKong Meilin Group Co., Ltd., MILabs local partner in China.

“For us, the highly innovative products of MILabs, together with its excellent track record on performance and reliability, are a valuable asset in our preclinical imaging portfolio”, according to Ms. Jingru Yu, general manager of HongKong Meilin Ltd. “By working closely with our local partners such as HongKong Meilin Ltd, we can deliver not only the best products worldwide to research communities, but also provide excellent local support”, explains prof. Frederik Beekman, Founder & CEO of MILabs B.V. In the last eight years, MILabs has set new standards in PET, SPECT and CT preclinical imaging.
