Diamond Headache Clinic's Alexander Feoktistov named recipient of 2015 NHF Lectureship

The National Headache Foundation is pleased to announce that Alexander Feoktistov, M.D., Ph.D., Director of Research at Diamond Headache Clinic, Chicago, Illinois, has been named the recipient of the 2015 NHF Lectureship. As the premier educational and informational resource for those living with headache disorders, their family members, physicians, allied health professionals, and health policy decision makers, the NHF created this award to preserve the highest level of neurobiological research and advancement in medicine today. Recipients of the award prove themselves to be up-and-coming physicians and scientists who have demonstrated interest in the management of common and complex headache problems.

Doctor Feoktistov will present his lecture, "Interventional Management of Intractable Headache," at the course, The 28th Annual Practicing Physician's Approach to the Difficult Headache Patient, which is sponsored by the Diamond Headache Clinic Research and Educational Foundation. The lecture will be presented on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at 8:00am, at the Balboa Bay Resort, Newport Beach, California.

Doctor Feoktistov received his M.D. with honors at Moscow Medical Academy, Moscow, Russia, where he also completed a residency in neurology. In 2002, Doctor Feoktistov received a Ph.D. in neurology at the Department of Neurology at the Moscow Medical Academy. He received board certification in neurology and psychotherapy in Russia, and served as Deputy of Medical Director at the Professor Alexander Vein Pain Clinic in Moscow. In 2001, Doctor Feoktistov received a Presidential award for a 1-year fellowship of his choice. He was approved to study headache at the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago, working directly with Seymour Diamond, M.D. and the other physicians, where he remained until 2007, conducting research and assisting in clinical duties. In 2007, Doctor Feoktistov started a residency in medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital, Chicago. From 2010 through 2011, he completed a fellowship in pain medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has received Certification in Headache Medicine from the United Council of Neurological Subspecialties. Doctor Feoktistov returned to the Diamond Headache Clinic in 2011 as a staff physician.
