HealthMine integrates Doctor On Demand into its Personal Clinical Engagement platform

HealthMine, Inc., the consumer health engagement company that developed the industry's first and only Personal Clinical Engagement (PCE) platform, announced today that it is integrating Doctor On Demand, a healthcare service that provides Video Visits with board-certified physicians via smartphones, tablets or desktop computers, into its platform.

Employers will now easily be able to offer the convenient and affordable Doctor On Demand telemedicine service to their members with a single sign on through the HealthMine portal. Together, the solutions can help employers improve utilization rates for telemedicine using a powerful social-behavioral economics engine, which engages people to choose the most effective, lowest cost healthcare option at the right time through incentives and rewards.

Telemedicine has the potential to deliver more than $6 billion in healthcare savings per year to U.S. companies, according to global analytics company Towers Watson. In a survey of 1,000 U.S. employers, 37 percent said they expect to offer their employees telemedicine consultations by next year as a low-cost alternative to emergency room or physician office visits for nonemergency health issues.

"We are laser-focused on saving money for employers by providing quality medical treatment without the waiting room. Patients love the convenience and ease of Doctor On Demand. With no PEPM and high utilization rates, we reduce health care costs while increasing employee satisfaction," said Adam Jackson, co-founder and CEO, Doctor On Demand. "Our integration with HealthMine will further help companies provide their employees with medical treatment that is impactful, efficient, and cost-effective."

HealthMine will begin offering the Doctor On Demand service immediately as part of its platform. Employers will be able to offer the service in a number of customizable ways, with the opportunity to connect the offering to customizable incentives and rewards that promote utilization and drive higher engagement.

"Telemedicine has the potential to do much more than bring convenience and predictable prices for medical services," said Bryce Williams, CEO and President, HealthMine. "It can help transform us into a wellness culture by delivering preventive screenings, remote monitoring and ongoing management for chronic care patients. That's why we're thrilled to partner with Doctor on Demand--a fast-growing leader in telemedicine with access to a wide range of healthcare providers--to help bring this benefit to more individuals."
