Bioquell QUBE to be showcased at EAHP 2015

The latest generation isolator, the Bioquell QUBE, will be showcased on stand 117 at the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP) 20th annual conference in Hamburg, 25th to 27th March 2015.

The Bioquell QUBE at EAHP 2014.

Hospitals are looking towards increasing ‘in-house’ drug production (like cytotoxic preparations) to supply personalised medication for patients. More patients and more treatments, coupled with the need to individually prepare many of the doses, mean that safe preparation as near as possible to the point of drug administration can strain available resources. Segregating these tailored preparations from routine operations in pharmacies opens up the opportunity for smaller workstations. These workstations can then enable safe compounding near to the patient, be implemented quickly and are relatively inexpensive to install.

Bioquell, the world leader in bio-decontamination, has developed its modular aseptic pharmacy workstation for exactly this purpose. With fully integrated hydrogen peroxide vapour (HPV) technology, the modular nature of the Bioquell QUBE allows a variety of configurations to match the end-user’s needs. It can be used for the preparation of batch production as well as for individual patient prescriptions. Along with protecting drug production from biological contamination, the Bioquell QUBE helps hospital pharmacies manage the risk of prescription error to help maximise patient safety.
