Metanome changes name to Diversigen

Metanome, Inc., an industry leader in comprehensive microbiome services, today announced the company has changed its name to Diversigen, Inc. The name was changed to reflect Diversigen's positioning as the single commercial source for the myriad of services and expertise customers need to capitalize on the diverse opportunities of the microbiome. From the wide diversity in sample types that Diversigen accepts – including those that are difficult to handle, such as low biomass samples – to their platform agnostic and flexible sequencing capabilities, expertise in study design and varied analytical tools, and proven ability to consult on complex process options, Diversigen helps researchers, scientists and industry move from complexity to clarity in the microbiome.

"We believe the name Diversigen encompasses the extensive expertise that we deliver across the entire project life cycle to help our customers understand and harness the vast opportunities rapidly emerging in microbiome research," according to Joesph F. Petrosino, PhD, Diversigen Founder and Chief Science Officer, as well as Director of the Alkek Center for Metagenomics and Microbiome Research and Associate Professor of Virology and Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Caroline Popper, CEO and Diversigen Chairman, added, "The new name, Diversigen, communicates our recognition that industry is quickly moving from discovery research to functional microbiome-related applications and is looking for a knowledgeable, credible, unbiased, full-service partner to accelerate that transformation."
