Lighthouse Instruments announces strategic business partnership with Robert Bosch

Lighthouse Instruments, LLC, a world leader in laser test and measurement systems for pharmaceutical process monitoring, today announced a strategic business partnership with Robert Bosch, GmbH to develop and distribute a new machine series for container closure integrity (CCI) testing using Lighthouse's laser headspace analysis (HSA) technology. The first machine will be unveiled at Achema in Frankfurt/Main, Germany on June 15, 2015.

Lighthouse will exclusively license and supply to Bosch laser measurement systems for automated pharmaceutical leak detection. Bosch, will be the sole vendor of the fully automated machine series while Lighthouse will continue to independently offer measurement services, laboratory instruments and automation for non-leak detection applications to the pharmaceutical industry.

"By combining this expertise and best-in-class technology with our market-leading machinery for pharmaceutical inspection applications, we have developed a highly flexible and customizable leak detection platform," says Joachim Baczewski, head of Inspection Technology and president of Bosch Packaging Technology K.K. in Japan. The new, fully automated series inspects different containers filled with lyophilized products, as well as medicines filled under vacuum or purged with inert gas.

"We are excited to contribute our expertise in state-of-the-art laser technology to offer the pharmaceutical industry best-in-class leak detection machines that will help customers achieve their goals for high product quality," says Jim Veale, President and CEO of Lighthouse Instruments. The partnership between Bosch and Lighthouse goes beyond mere supply cooperation: by joining efforts with Lighthouse, Bosch can offer customers best-in-class HSA technology, combined with extensive expert knowledge and consulting services.
