Hope For Heroes Foundation forms national alliance with USA Medical Card

Hope For Heroes Foundation today announced the formation of a groundbreaking national alliance with USA Medical Card, a leading provider of free pharmacy discount cards. The new nationwide initiative benefiting Hope For Heroes will help fund programs that empower independence for our nation's disabled military veterans, police, firemen, and EMS professionals, and will help more people afford their prescriptions.

"Hope For Heroes is thrilled to welcome USA Medical Card as a national sponsor, helping us to build and strengthen our mission," said Mitch Serlin, President of Hope For Heroes. "We are excited to see what our two organizations will be able to accomplish together. Due to their support, we can expand our work with our nation's disabled heroes, to help them heal and experience personal accomplishment."

The pharmacy discount card, administered by USA Medical Card, is free and available to everyone. It is accepted at 60,000 pharmacies across the country—local, regional and national chains such as CVS, Costco, Target, Rite Aid, Walmart and Walgreens.

The pre-activated card reduces the prescription cost of brand name and generics by as much as 75 percent. Eligible Rx medications include those commonly prescribed for heart disease, hypothyroidism, asthma, diabetes and other health conditions. It can also be used by individuals to complement a health insurance plan—to help fill in gaps—or provide benefits for those who do not have health coverage at all.

"We are extremely proud to be a national sponsor of Hope For Heroes. This program will help people save money on their prescriptions and help our nation's wounded heroes to restore a healthy, active lifestyle—it addresses the wellbeing of people across America," said USA Medical Card Co-Founder and President Jordan Sessler. "This sponsorship will help ensure more funds are available to help these heroes start to heal."
