HTMS expands care management consulting business to meet growing demand from healthcare systems

HTMS, an Emdeon company, today announced the expansion of its care management consulting business to meet the growing demand from hospitals and healthcare systems for consulting services around integrated care management programs. The services expansion includes an increase in clinical staff members, including registered nurses and social workers, with plans to hire more professionals in the coming months.

With this expansion, HTMS broadens its offerings to healthcare organizations, helping them better collaborate for the mutual goal of improving the quality of patient care at a lower cost. This expansion will also strengthen HTMS's existing array of care management consulting services to customers, including strategy development, program assessment, program design, systems selection procurement, implementation services and interim staffing.

"As patients take on a greater role in managing their healthcare decisions, payers and providers will need to better align with the needs of their patients," said David Gallegos, senior vice president of system process and modernization for HTMS. "With the correct strategies and services in place, these organizations can better connect with members and facilitate healthy behavior change."

HTMS's decision to formally expand this area of its business comes in response to heightened marketplace demand. As payer and provider organizations continue to take on additional medical risk, they are increasingly in need of programs and services that enable new care delivery models focused on managing the health of a population.

"Payer-provider collaboration is increasingly necessary, and we want to provide the best possible resources to help our customers excel," said Bob Hoover, consulting director for HTMS. "The reality is that this method of collaboration is still new to the healthcare industry and we have the opportunity to not only enable it, but be recognized as the leader in the care management consulting space."

Emdeon will be exhibiting at the AHIP Institute, June 3-5, in Nashville, Tennessee at the Music City Center. At the conference, HTMS will be presenting on care management transformation during an in-booth presentation by Bob Hoover, consulting director, HTMS, and Felizitas Devine, senior manager clinical consulting, HTMS, on June 3rd at 6 p.m. and June 4th at 6:30 p.m. To attend the presentations and learn more about how Emdeon and HTMS are leading the industry in anticipating and preparing for future challenges, visit booth 1203 during the AHIP Institute.
