Self Service News names Pharmabox as one of the most innovative retailing systems of the year

Pharmabox, Inc., (www.pharmabox.com), the developer of a unique automated drugstore, announced today they have been named by Self Service News Magazine as having one of the most innovative retailing systems of the year.

"We may be only half way into 2015, but we think we've already spotted a potential winner for the most innovative machine of the year," the magazine reported. The publication is considered to be one of the leading authorities in the vending, self-service, kiosk and automated retailing industries.

The Pharmabox is a wonderfully designed vending machine that features all the latest technologies, including cashless payment systems, interactive screens that display complete product information, and wireless backend management systems. The system carries over 140 of the top selling items typically found in a Target, CVS, Walgreen's or Rite Aid-type store.

According to the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA), consumers make over 2.9 billion trips per year to retail stores to purchase over-the-counter (non-prescription) medicines, and 81% of adults use OTC medicines as a first response to minor ailments.

"Think about how many times the average consumer has to run out to the store to get a medicine, personal care item, beauty product, or even a battery," Alejandro Rodriguez, Founder and CEO Pharmabox commented. "We can cut the time it takes to get those items, reduce the number of cars on the road, and have a positive impact on the environment – just by placing a Pharmabox automated kiosk in key locations," he added. "The cost and time savings, plus the added convenience for consumers could be enormous."

Rodriguez has plans to deploy the Pharmabox units in high-traffic locations throughout the nation, including airports, hotels, business centers, transportation hubs, apartment complexes, college campuses and dormitories, fitness centers, hospitals, sports stadiums, and retail stores.

"Within a short time, Pharmabox will redefine the way consumers shop for medicines and personal care items," Rodriguez said. "Just as Redbox changed their industry, we will change ours – for the better."

The company is now accepting inquiries from location managers interested in system placements.
