USANA Health Sciences Inc., a global nutritional supplements company, has been recognized for the sixth consecutive year as one of 53 companies dedicated to participation in the 2015 DSA Code of Ethics Communication Initiative. Participating in this initiative is optional to all direct selling businesses, but those who participate agree to follow the code of ethics, which establishes credibility through good business practices.
"Direct selling is often misunderstood, which is why USANA works tirelessly to ensure ethical and transparent practices with everyone," said USANA Vice President of Ethics and Market Expansion Dan Whitney. "We demonstrate our commitment to the highest level of ethics in our financial reporting, scientific research and in the way our employees are treated. Being accepted to this initiative is a testament of USANA's commitment to ethical business practices and consumer service."
Created in 2008, the initiative recognizes member companies that go above and beyond in their efforts to promote awareness of the code by fulfilling the necessary criteria and adhering to ethical business practices within direct sales. The initiative encourages companies to be truthful about the company's products, services, identity and privacy. It seeks to eliminate deceptive or unlawful consumer or recruiting practices and creates an environment of ethical business practices. The association recognizes that pyramid schemes are illegal, and companies operating such structures are not permitted to be members of the DSA.
"Participation in this initiative allows us to properly educate the public about the direct selling industry and continue to hold ourselves and other direct selling companies accountable to high ethical standards," said Kevin Guest, USANA President. "Receiving this recognition demonstrates that USANA is one of the elite leaders in its commitment to ethics and integrity, and that we have set the tone of excellence within the industry."
