PRN Course for rehabilitation nurses now available online

The PRN Course is an intensive, online course covering the major areas of care that a rehabilitation nurse provides and is conveniently accessible from anywhere. Recorded at the recent live course, this valuable educational opportunity addresses comprehensive care for the rehabilitation patient, including how professionals can incorporate 36 rehabilitation nursing concepts and skills into their practice. It is designed to provide participants with a broad foundation on theories of rehabilitation nursing as well as an effective review tool for an upcoming CRRN® examination. Participation in this course will help rehabilitation nurses gain the knowledge necessary to implement industry-wide best practices into their nursing care.

The course is designed around three main focus areas:
1. Rehabilitation Principles including safety and quality, bowel and bladder, and swallowing
2. Rehabilitation Disorders such as spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and stroke
3. Client and Caregiver Education concerning rehabilitation in older adults and in children

The PRN Course covers a variety of skills, including how to describe the importance of the interdisciplinary team, examining strategies for care across the life span, and identifying effective evidence-based nursing interventions. Nurses are eligible to earn up to 25.25 nursing contact hours throughout this course.
