888casino is to make a Christmas donation of $50,000 to the charity International Medical Corps UK. The charity provides health services in areas of the world affected by conflict, natural disaster or disease and this money will reinforce their ability to respond rapidly to emergency situations.
International Medical Corps UK has recently supported refugees created by the war in Syria, treated Ebola sufferers in West Africa and supported those affected by typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. 888casino has helped to support the charity's work since 2013 and is a founding member of the Frontline Network.
This donation from 888casino will support the charity's 'Further and Faster Fund' enabling International Medical Corps to deploy immediately to crisis situations, rather than having to raise money first. Speed saves lives in an emergency and the initial hours are critical for those affected. The fund will also enable International Medical Corps staff to stay and remain in communities for the long term to train local people, and build robust health care systems which are better able to cope in the future.
Speaking about the support for International Medical Corps UK, Sivan Finn, the Global Marketing Director pls from 888casino said;
"The donation has been made possible by the loyalty and support of our customers during the festive period. Our hope is that the money helps International Media Corps to relieve the suffering of those affected by war and natural disasters, through the provision of essential health services."
Kerry-Jane Kingsmill, Director of Resource Development and Communications at International Medical Corps UK, said: "We are very excited about being chosen for the 888casino 2015 Christmas Campaign.
"Natural disasters such as droughts and floods affect nearly 250 million people worldwide each year. In addition, there are more people displaced by conflict around the world than ever before. This means that our work has never been more in demand.
"This Christmas Appeal's support means that 888casino's customers are enabling International Medical Corps to deploy immediately. Speed saves lives in an emergency - the initial hours are critical for those affected. International Medical Corps will be able to deploy right away, and stay, making the lasting difference."
888casino first supported International Medical Corps UK in 2013, when customers asked the site to help them respond to people affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan. Since then 888casino has supported International Medical Corps' work fighting Ebola in West Africa, and this latest donation represents a signification proportion of money staked by 888casino players over a one week period in December.
