Interstate partners with Getinge to bring OEM ventilator batteries directly to critical care providers

Interstate Batteries announced a partnership today with Maquet Medical Systems USA (now Getinge Group) to provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) batteries to the health care industry through its All Battery Center retail stores.

Interstate and Getinge are joining forces to bring the Maquet SERVO-i® ventilator batteries to critical care providers - along with battery power for the entire catalog of Maquet health care devices.

The batteries will be sold directly to medical facilities across the United States through Interstate's All Battery Centers, numbering more than 200 in North America. This partnership is the second significant health care industry announcement for the battery company this year.

"Interstate is honored to now provide original batteries for the Maquet branded life-giving devices," said Joe Padilla, Senior National Sales Manager for Interstate All Battery Center. "This partnership is the best thing we can do for our customers and their patients - because it's not just a battery, it's a life."

Ventilators move breathable air in and out of the lungs of a patient who is either unable to breathe or breathing insufficiently. The devices include sensitive monitoring and alarm systems that track and record the ventilator processes and the vital signs of the patient.

Getinge's Maquet brand is internationally renowned for critical care ventilation manufacturing. The breakthrough in their engineering of ventilator systems is their ability to be used more frequently and in more situations - saving caregiver's time, safeguarding continuous care for patients and streamlining training and maintenance processes for clinicians. Maquet was founded in 1838, and since the introduction of the first SERVO ventilator in 1971, the company has supplied more than 100,000 units and become the world's leading ventilation brand.

Interstate All Battery Center works with more than 2,500 hospitals and health care facilities across the country as a local healthcare power expert, business consultant and the industry's most trusted business ally. The Company's "local partner, powerful solutions" practice and just-in-time inventory model will allow facilities to re-power their life-critical devices with OEM batteries within just 24 hours. Services also include free recycling and delivery, in addition to full local warranty support.
