At next month’s Analytica event (International Congress Center Munich, Messe München, Germany; April 10-13), Porex Corporation (“POREX®”) will display new solutions for laboratory and medical professionals that improve accuracy and purity in liquid handling, speed fluid transfer of diagnostics and optimize chromatography operations. These innovations, offering new unmatched capabilities for a wide range of laboratory applications, will be demonstrated at Halle A3, Stand 411.
Making its European debut at Analytica 2018 is the new POREX® FORTRESS™ pipette tip filter, the first certified pure liquid barrier filter. The inert and additive-free filter uses a proprietary material to prevent aerosols, cross-contamination and sample carryover, raising purity in both robotic and manual laboratory liquid handling to a new level.
To illustrate the new technology’s innovation in laboratory liquid handling, Porex has created a new video that compares its operation to other pipette filter tips on the market.
Within diagnostics, POREX®’s “Collection to Detection” solutions speed laboratory operations and procedures, improve the accuracy of results and reduce overall costs of methodologies. Porex helps manufacturers overcome challenges with diagnostic methodologies by offering an unmatched and diverse portfolio of smart enabling porous materials and expertise that lead to faster collection and specificity throughout testing processes.
Porex’s materials include collection media with customized surface energy, reduced oral fluid viscosity in samples and improved absorbency of samples using optimized capillary structures. Porex’s diagnostic capabilities help improve speed, flexibility and mobility. Applications include in vitro diagnostics, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and point-of-care (POC) tests.
POREX® will also be showcasing unmatched technologies that simplify chromatography applications with products that include Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) frits, automation and dissolution filters and protein precipitation media. Porex chromatography products are manufactured from PE, PP and PTFE that is uniquely designed to remove contaminating lipids, salts and proteins. Porex’s proprietary sintering process optimizes SPE processes by reducing interferences and reducing the number of extractables. Porexmedia holds column packing in place and facilitates sorbent packing in SPE columns as it separates and retains sample analytes.
